Stephen Mutiso

Dr. Stephen Mutiso is a Kenyan physician and epidemiologist working with Kenya's Ministry of Health, with a professional focus on non-communicable diseases and injuries, digital health, and the use of emerging technologies to strengthen healthcare delivery. His work includes health policy and programming in areas such as kidney health, NCD prevention and management, and patient-centred health systems.Through his work with the Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS), Dr. Mutiso has been instrumental in delivering the Trauma Team Training Course across nine counties in Kenya. His technical skill, dependability, and innovative approach have contributed to CNIS's efforts to strengthen trauma care capacity in the country. He was recognized by CNIS as an African Partner of the Year 2024.His professional interests bring together epidemiology, public health policy, non-communicable disease programming, injury prevention, and digital innovation to strengthen health systems and improve patient outcomes.
