Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick is a Canadian general surgeon with extensive experience in rural and global surgery. He received his medical degree from Queen’s University and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Ottawa. Throughout his career, he has provided surgical care in rural Canada and internationally, including volunteer service in Papua New Guinea, India, Haiti, and Pakistan, and has contributed to surgical education and global health initiatives.
Dr. Kirkpatrick has been a valued supporter of the Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS), generously donating surgical instruments used in training programs across Africa and the Caribbean. His longstanding commitment to sustainable surgical education has helped equip healthcare professionals with the tools and skills needed to improve patient care in low-resource settings.
