Fanan Ujoh joined CNIS’s Nigeria projects in 2017 as Head of Research & Data Collection/Analyses on the META (Maternal Expert Thinking Analyzer), a point-of-care diagnostic, training & outreach app that uses patient data & obstetrical danger signs to produce risk-based management plans. He designed and managed the data collection methodology and prepared the scientific report emphasizing the significant addition of the META process to medical knowledge and improvement in maternal healthcare in Benue State using data from PHCs in Gboko & Oturkpo LGAs as pilot locations. He has worked on several projects including the Digital Midwifery Training in Benue State, Nigeria: A Randomized Non-inferiority Trial, Fundamental Interventions, Referral and Safe Transfer (FIRST) for Midwives” and “Midwifery Active Digitization Empowerment (MADE) Initiative” for Midwifery Instructors and Students from Schools of Midwifery in all 7 States of the North-Central Region of Nigeria. He is the CNIS Nigeria Country Representative and was elected to the CNIS Board in November 2025. He holds a doctorate degree in Environmental Resource Planning with vast research and project management experience which he brings to bear on CNIS interventions in Nigeria.
